Hello all, I am new to the forum and would welcome some help.

When I turn key, vehicle hesitates 1-2 seconds to spin up motor. It used to spin up instantly. All instrument lights are lit during this delay. CEL stays on but basic scanner cannot detect a fault.

Vehicle doesn't seem to be going into battery mode but runs and drives smoothly. Engine stays on at a traffic light even when engine warmed up and hybrid battery shows fully charged.

Any help/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

 

Sounds like your hybrid battery has failed. If you have gotten 13 years out of that battery you have beaten the odds. A basic scanner won't have the ability to read hybrid codes. Time to get a professional to look at it and give you the bad news.
