Chrysler Sebring 2008
I have a Chrysler Sebring 2008 and it keeps shuts off while I'm driving it I checked my alternator and it was fine then I was told it could be my fuel pump but then the mechanic said my car won't start if it's the fuel pump so can somebody on here please help me I need answers

Could be a clogged fuel filter. Sometimes the filter can get partially plugged to the point that gas can seep through. When the car sits, enough gas gets through to permit starting and perhaps slow speed driving. When the need for fuel is high, like on the highway, not enough gas gets through.
A weak fuel pump can produce the same symptoms. In modern cars, the fuel filter is built into the fuel pump which is installed in the fuel tank. Changing either involves dropping the fuel tank. Used to be simple. Not anymore.
