Default Howdy!

I wanted to start off right. I was an auto tech for 15 years (3 years for a Chrysler Dealer), a Freightliner Service writer/Foreman/Tech for another 4 years. First Dodge in the family was my sisters 1972 Swinger. Man I wish I had that car now.

I've had an 96 Intrepid, 96 Concorde, 2001 Grand Caravan Sport AWD minivan, and now I am taking a 2001 Chrysler Intrepid with a bad 2.7 and a wrecked 2002 Chrysler 300M as an organ donor to build a functioning Intrepid. It is quite a project as there are great differences in the two concerning electronics and harnesses. I've pictures if anyone interested. Glad to be here. Look forward to some good discussions.

The 2002 300m is the donor car, I will be fixing up the 2001 Intrepid. 300m was involved in a front end collision, when underneith a Ford Expedition, it lost that fight. I'm a mechanic, not a body man.

The 01 Chrysler Intrepid was entry level model that had no options other than power windows and came with a 2.7 that was blowing oil out the last cylinder on the passenger side very badly and an ugly timing chain growl on startup.

I will be adding the 3.5 high output and it's transmission from the 300m. Also transferring, HVAC system, Dash, steering column, Heated leather memory seats, door panels, infinity sound system, side view mirrors, anti-lock brake system, upgraded airbag system which will include side airbags in the seats, 300m wheels (PCM is programed for that size anyway and they look better), and nearly every inch of wiring harness on the 300m willl be installed in the Intrepid because of electronic differences. Everything, including the wiring harnesses bolts into the same place, so that works out well.

Of course, adding all those systems the Intrepid never came with required transfer of all wiring, also interesting is that the '01 Intrepid used an ECM and a TCM. The '02 300m accomplishes everything using one PCM, resulting in a vast difference in wiring under the hood also.

Progress so far, Engine & trans assembly, dash, column, wiring harnesses from bumper to bumper, carpet, front seats, and wheels/tires are on the Intrepid.

Sorry so long, that's a bit more infor than you asked. I have some pics, if you'd like to see. Thanks for the welcome, glad to be here.

Hi. I just bought a 2nd-hand Intrepid 1999 model. Would you have or know someone who can share a MANUAL for this car? I'm having diifficulties figuring out the meanings/use of the buttons found in the steering wheel and dash board.

Thank you in advance.
