New member, but not new to Chrysler products. I grew up with them, Dad bought a 1953 Custom Imperial in late 1954/early 1955 replacing a 1948 Pontiac. From then we had Chrysler products other than his 1948 Chevy Fleetmaster convertible. He replaced that with a 1954 Plymouth and the Imperial was sold in 1962 and replaced by a Plymouth Belvidere wagon. The 54 Plymouth was replaced by a 1959 DeSoto Shopper. In 1966 he traded in the 62 Plymouth on a 1966 Dodge Polara Hardtop. I was working in Newport News VA and commuting from Virginia Beach VA, a 50 mile round trip each day. I had taken driver's training in a 1962 Dodge Dart.

I had a 1964 Falcon with the 260 V8, a 1966 Shelby GT350 and then needed a commuter car so picked up a used 1981 Omni Miser. My daughter was hit in it, not injured other than a bruise, but car was totaled. I replaced it with a 1987 Horizon. A friend had a 1985 LeBaron convertible he bought wrecked for the Mitsubishi 2.6L engine, then found it wouldn't work in a RWD Mazda B2600. I bought the car from him, had it repaired and drove it until the Mitsubishi curse struck, 3 of 4 combustion chambers cracked. I had traded for a 1987 TI 2.2L and A413 so prepared to drop that in, but I was given all the parts for a TII conversion and since the engine was covered in oil, I cleaned it, engine was a 1988 TII service long block.

The 85 must have been cursed as in 2009 it was hit in the same area and totaled, so all the good parts were saved and are in the process of being installed in a 1986 LeBaron convertible.
