Default Recall needed for ABS Control unit on 2007 Chrysler Aspen 5.7L 2WD

I have had two Chrysler Aspen's from years 2007 & 2008, both ultimately ended up with the ABS light continously on. To date, I have a 2007 model, 5.7L RWD that after replacing the back brakes and rotors is now experiencing an issue with the back brakes engaging/getting stuck during acceleration and even when stationary. I was advised by someone with Mopar that since Chrysler ended dealings with the Co./maker of the ABS brake Control unit this has resulted in an ongoing issue since this feature is specific to the brake system; thus, leading to an unfortunate situation of it being virtually impossible to just simply replace this component/part and move on should it be discontinued as it of course is today. In all fairness, Chrysler should make some accommodation to its customers to correct this critical issue in the event of some sort of malfunction being that its associated with the brake system which can be and basically is a safety issue which one can suffer severe injury and even death if to fail. There should be no need to pursue class action lawsuits for something that should be well known and considered serious enough to injure or even kill someone. I truly hope the right thing is done to ultimately avoid such further action. Or is there some sort of resolution to this issue that can be shared? Please Help

not sure what recall your talking about for an ABS issue I see non in the 07 or 08 regarding the ABS lite. There is one for the air bag lite. So what are the codes your getting in the ABS module? FYI abs system consists of the ABS module , pump, and sensors they have nothing to do with the normal operation of hydraulic braking system they can work independently of one another.

Default Reply to Response Reg. ABS Control Module Issue

GM,
So, the code read was P0457 and I was advised it had to do with the ABS Control Module. The issue I've been experiencing is my back brakes engaging/locking while in Drive/motion. The reason I raised concern about the ABS control is based on several different communications I've had with different people, including mechanics, who have also expressed that this seems to be/has been an issue with the Make Chrysler & Dodge. Therefore, it raises further concern about if in fact this particular issue requires further attention and awareness if appears to be so widespread. Perhaps it may not per se fit the requirements or criteria that would deem it 'Recall' qualified or what have you, but it certainly appears to be a matter that the dealer and/or experts should consider looking into/investigating further in all fairness to consumers and owners who've purchase their vehicles and end up running into such an issue that generally just should not be found occurring so frequently. I appreciate your response and truly hope I can gain further insight and information that may assist me with trying to rectify/repair the issue I'm having that in hindsight is quite serious and dangerous.

Please verify the code, P0457, as it deals with the EVAP system and it typically associated with a large/gross leak that can be caused by a loose gascap.

Since the rear brake issues developed after the rear brakes were serviced, the issue may be related to the brake work. For example, it is possible the parking shoe inside the rotor hat has dislodged and is occasionally grabbing or a piece of the parking shoe broke off and is floating in the hat and occasionally grabbing.

Has the vehicle been to a dealership or independent shop for a diagnosis? I see a number of references about communications with different people, including mechanics, and being advised but no reference that a mechanic has actually looked at the vehicle.

Default Same issue being raised regarding these Same Warning Lights...

🤔 ... Well, have to say I love my Aspen and really trying to pinpoint the issue causing these lights to illuminate. What id really like a bit of clarity on from a mechanic with expert (or close to it will do) knowledge about Chrysler is...Why is it these 'Very Same' warning lights and issues seem to be occurring on soooo many different people with this model vehicle? Like honestly, how coincidental is this really..? Oh, and not to mention I've had TWO different Aspens..a 2007 & 2008, that both ended up with these SAME lights coming on. So, just put it this way...does anyone believe, hypothetically speaking, if today or tmr I were to get..oh let's say a Toyota..whats the likelihood that those 'Same' lights will end up coming on too. Just a little food for thought..something that really has me going...hmm? No real talk though..would Really love to receive some insight on what needs to be checked out to try and resolve this!

did you read what Goose said? ABS and Check engine lite are 2 different things. code p0457 is for a loose gas cap or large evap leak not the ABS which stands for Anti lock braking system.
If your guys has a good enough scanner he can get into the ABS module and see the codes for it. But if he is using a cheap tool it will be only for engine codes which the p0457 is for not the ABS.
