Question Town and Country starting problem

I have a 2009 Town and Country with 3.3L , when I put key in and start cranking, the engine doesn't start. Just cranks at normal cranking speed.
When I release the key (key returns to 'ON'), the cranking continues. I have to turn the key to off to stop the cranking. Engine does not fire up. The
T & C has 56,000 miles on it. This 'feature' started while driving down the highway at 60MPH. Battery is new and well charged.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
