Default Electric supercharger

My cousin bought a crappy electric supercharger the other day, and I must say it looks like a piece of crap. There is no way these things can work, right?[/align]

It works at idle and then it'll restrict air flow at higher RPMs.

i had one on my car for a short time, because i got it for free...

compared to the stock air intake setup, the gtech showed hp gains and improvements in my 0-60 and QM time...

a friend of mine sells them on ebay, and he has sold hundreds, and while some people arent happy, some people have loved them so much, they bought more...some people have even sent in dyno sheets showing gains over a stock intake.

If your car is a stock piece of **** 4 banger, then yes you might pull off 1-2 HP at the wheels. But if you've got a REAL cold air intake and exhaust then it will just slow you down.

It just changes the powerband placement, and remeber air flowing through an intake can't exceed the speed of sound. So like I said, if you got a POS that is stock, maybe just maybe it might work. On things like the dodge intrepid and the rams, it won't work because the intake is efficient enough for it to draw more air than the fan can push.

I almost bought one called the turbonator. Not electric, just a vortex thing. Small cars with big intakes showed improvements because it was able to make a vortex without restricting air flow. Their customers seemed happy, so I went online search for other info, and as it turns out, they only posted the good ones. The other people I found that had tried it were really disappointed.Vehicles like Rams actually slowed down.
Off topic, but I saw a CAI comparison for a Hemi 300. Nothing beat the stock air system on the dyno. If the engine is stock, the intake was made for that. Chances are that the stock setup gets colder air than an aftermarket.

That would have been a really sad day if you went out and bought a vortex turbonator. Just the concept in general is ridiculous and all information shows nothing. No fuel improvements, no hp gained, just a waste of $20 that thousands decided to do.
