Default Forums in general.

Hi, this is nothing to do with this great Forum but, being a member of other forums, I have a question about how they operate re: membership.

I am a member of another site that is nothing to do with automobiles and I asked the admin to delete me from it's members list. Three tries contacting the admin with no reply so I contacted a Moderator but he fobbed me off with "Just don't log in". Also I have checked and other members that have requested the same and indicated in a post they were leaving, have not been removed from the list. Some members - it been an Old Geezers site and been going for years, have sadly died but are still listed as members.
The questions are:-
Does the quantity of members increase the site's income?
Is it ever possible to leave a site once joining?

I know it's not auto related but I have searched the Web and got no definitive answers.

Thanks in advance, John.

Not to my knowledge about being removed from the site entirely as web programming would also delete a leaving member's usually valuable postings(on an auto based site). AND partly to what you surmise about the "numbers game".

Thanks Rebel. I take your point about the loss of useful posts and guess it is not possible to completely leave a site ever unless it shuts down.
