Been fighting a battle with sporadic fuel issues...replaced the pump and bypassed the fuel relay in the TIPM, sometimes I have power to the pump and sometimes I don't..today I made a jumper from the fuse box directly to the pump and the van fired up for the first time in months...so I have a couple of questions (1) does the line from the fuse (TIPM) go directly to the pump or does it pass through the ECM? (2) If I make my jumper connection permanent will the computer eventually shut down the van as it perhaps cannot see the connection?

 

There is no fuse for the fuel pump. The relay is internal of the TIPM the power comes from there Look to see how you have the fuel relay bypass hooked up what gives it power and ground?

 

According to multiple videos I've watched and the schematic on the TIPM cover, the relay sends power to a 20 amp fuse at M25....so when you install a vertical visions jumper you plug one end into power, in my case M21 which gets power from a relay that behaves just like the fuel pump relay..and the other end into M25....so I have power in that fuse plug to the pump, but the power is intermittent , almost as if there is a weak spot in the wire under the van or a mouse chew...so today I hooked up a wire to M21 and ran it to the power side of the fuel pump and it fired right up...so I think something is wrong with the wire from the TIPM to the pump, so the only thing I can see to do is run a new line which is what I did, but haven't ran it under the van yet, just a temporary run....so next chance I get I will hook it up in a permanent fashion

 

it could be the internal circuits of the tipm from the m25 fuse to the pump or at the connectors at the tipm

 

That seems like a most likely scenario to me, now the wire at the pump is dark blue with an orange stripe..would the wire at the tipm plug be the same colors? Thought if worse came to worse I could cut it at the TIPM and run a jumper to one of the fuses in the TIPM
