Default 08 Pac: Fuel gauge is a LIAR!

I know all cars have fuel gauges that show empty when they in fact have plenty of fuel, but the Pacifica is by far the worst. The manual says the capacity is 23 gallons and that the indicator will illuminate with 2-4 gallons remaining. However, this time I ignored the indicator, took the guage down to the bottom of the E and the "miles remaining" indicator down to 10, and it only took 18.4 gallons to fill it.

It drives me crazy to think I have almost 5 gallons of unusable fuel that I'm lugging around everywhere. So my questions are: 1) how do others use that last 5 gallons without risking running dry; and, 2) is the capacity really 23 gallons?

Please, auto manufacturers, can you please make fuel gauges that just tell you how much fuel there is? It's insulting that all of you think we're too stupid to handle the truth.

I have a 2007 Pac and have experienced the same bad readings from the gas gauge. I set the computer to miles to empty and go with that. It's pretty accurate. A word of advice. Fill when the tank is at 1/4. If you go below that you are risking bottom tank contamination of the gas being used.
