Exclamation Please help!!

I have a 2002 Chrysler Sebring LXi....the issue is my engine light came on yesterday the car was fine when i drove it home. Today on my way to work when i would step on the gas to go faster im not even at 100km and my car is @ 5RPM almost 6 and a weird sound comes from my engine. My car is not overheating because the tiny clock of the temp is below the middle line. what could this possibly be?
