2008 T&C e-brake return spring
Hey guys,
Needing to replace the left and right rear e-brake return springs due to rust & wear but when I called my local dealer to check stock I was told that they are on back order, no ship date listed and checking the locator showed no stocking dealers nationwide. What gives? Does anyone know how I can find these? My local brake shop had none but mentioned they could be part of a kit. So another question is does anyone know if they come as part of a caliper repair kit (dealer or aftermarket)?
My left rear caliper piston no longer engages with the pad when the e-brake is applied (excessive clearance). I think that that spring being bad may not have allowed the proper function of the arm to ratchet out the piston over time since my last brake pad service (25,000 mi ago). Does anyone have any thoughts as to why the e-brake no longer functions as such (the right rear is fine and both cables are free). Do I just have to readjust the piston in the caliper or something more extensive? Thanks for any opinions on this.
