Default Crossfire vs. Honda S2000

Hey all,

I just thought I would share a fun racing story. I don't own a Crossfire but recently my girlfriend and I took a vacation to Southern California and rented a white 06 Crossfire coupe. I have to say I was impressed with the handling, style and overall performance of the little car. My daily ride is an 05 Subaru WRX STI. Although it does not have the power of the STI it still handles and drives admirably in comparison. I drove it through the Ortega HWY and was impressed with the way it handled the curves. But onto the main story. I let my girlfriend drive on the way back from shopping and we ran into a Honda S2000 at a light. We didn't think anything of it, but both the honda and my girlfriend started to get on it from a low speed 10 mph roll. The little Crossfire jumped about a half-car to a car in front all the way up to about 70-80ish when finally the Honda S2000 came even and then slightly ahead when they both shut it down around 90ish. Obviously the Honda's lightweight and better top end started to come through at the end. Both the S2000 driver and ourselves were impressed with how the little Crossfire peformed. The honda driver claimed "That thing has a lot of horsepower" as I don't think he was expecting us to hang that well. Considering there were two of us in the car, plus being an automatic and it weighing more then the Honda, that makes it even more impressive. The 3.2 V6 is definitely a torquey motor and it showed. And I'm sure a manual Crossfire would be even more fun. So to all the Crossfire owners out there, you have some nice rides, be proud of em!!
