My 2000 LHS has an exhaust issue. Left bank catalytic converter pipe to muffler has come apart at a seam where there is a large knuckle. This is past the oxygen sensor so I am thinking of cutting it out and putting in a pipe segment replacement. Rest of exhaust still in good shape so don't want to replace converter, muffler, etc. at this time if I don't have to. Question is there any function to this knuckle? It is about 3.375 dia and about 3.00 in. long.
