I am a new member and have a technical question. I have a 96 Intrepid with 3.5L engine. I need to replace the right side camshaft seal. I have the camshaft sprocket off, and the factory manual states that I need to use the Camshaft Seal Remover C-3981B tool. I don't have this tool nor do I care to purchase one. Can the seal be removed with a common "pick" seal remover available at most auto parts strores?

Any other tips on removal and re-installaation?

What ever came of this. I have the same issue. I know its been a while but what did you end up doing? looks like I need to just buy the tool. Let me know if you get a chance. Thanks
