Default 300M hesitation

I have a 2004 300M and from time to timeif I am in heavy traffic the car will tend to buck a little when applying the brakes. Seems if I lift off the brakes and try again it will downshift fine. Any ideas? Hope it is not time for a major transmission job only have 38,000 miles on it.

My girlfriend had a Dodge avenger awhile back and the same thing used to happen in stop and go traffic. It turned out to be a selenoid for the transmission... per the Dodge dealer. They replaced it and all was fine. Hope this helps.
