Cool All the telltale signs of a bad heater core, 1996 LHS

Hey guys/gals!

I picked up a nice clean 96 LHS and I think I know why it was reasonably priced! It wasn't two days after I got it and wham, went to start it in 10 below weather and suddenly my front windshield starts fogging up and that sickening sweet smell of antifreeze starts blowing into the cab of the car.

I am sure some of you have worked on this particular model and year and I am curious if you have any tips, hints, shortcuts, and/or suggestions for replacing it? I found a nice priced one at a fast food/fast auto parts online store and ordered it for about $40 with shipping which seemed like a steal!

Back to installation, any of you have secrets you learned and that you can help me save hours and hours or saving me from bloody knuckles?

I am all ears and I am an average home mechanic and I appreciate any hints or tips!

Default Replacing the heater core

I realized later that I completely forgot to mention that I was looking for tips and hints on how to replace the heater core in a 96 LHS. In my enthusiasm to post my first post I overlooked the key word: heater core.

I am sure ssomeone here has done this wretched job and has some suggestions how to make it even one iota easier?
