Concorde dies randomly
Okay I have a 96 Chrysler concorde LXI 3.5 litre, there are several things going on and im not sure if they are interrealated or seperate. The main concern is that the car just dies randomly from low to high speeds it dosn't matter, sometimes it will start right back up ive even thrown in neutral at times on highway and it will start, other times it wont start for hours. I have noticed the cruise light comes on when its dying. which is another problem the cruise has not worked for sometime. The airbag light and check engine light is always on and autozone says its the o2 sensor (not sure if this could cause all the erratic dying), the other issue is that the radio cuts in and out at random times, especially with bumpy roads. From what Ive read I have half a mind to change the crankshaft sensor, but with the other issues I worry it may be electrical. Also when the car is on its not starting frenzy, everything works fine, lights, radio, ect. The problem with dying has seem to get a lot worse lately, changed the fuel pump being it seems like its getting no fuel but much to our suprise that wasnt the problem, it did seem to lessen the amount of times it dies however. Any insight on this issue would be great, as I do not have a lot of money to just start changing parts and going down the list of possibilities. Thanks in advance.
Cam or crank sensor. One of them is getting hot and shutting you down. Most likely the crank sensor. IF it is shorting internally, it will most likely wipe the memory out of the PCM. So, scanning it will do you no good because the codes will be gone. However, if you know someone with a decent scan tool you can watch the cam/crank signals while you turn it over. Then you will know for sure.
TIP for you. If the crank signal is shorting out the PCI BUS, then you will get no ASD or fuel pump relay function. Therefore no spark and no fuel. That's probably how you misdiagnosed the fuel pump.
