Default Concorde loosing coolant

I have a 2004 Concorde LX with a 2.7 liter engine. I pulled into the garage after about a 20-25 minute drive home from work, and noticed a trail of coolant. Got down to have a look, and it was pouring out at a pretty fast rate. I let it cool off and went to see where it was coming from. It appeared to be from the front of the engine, but everything looked dry and there was no obvious place it seemed to be coming from. I filled it back up and hoped for the best, and sure enough hasn't leaked a drop in 4 days so far. It did this to me about 2 months ago when I first got the car too.

The temp gauge has never even seen the halfway mark, so unless that is broken, the car didn't overheat, any one had this happen or know why my car seems to like dumping the coolant every couple of months? My best guess based on where the coolant appeared to be coming from was a water pump, but these can't sring a major leak and then fix them selves, can they?
