Default Idle, AC compressor unit

Hi
I am owning a 1995 Chrysler New Yorker. Unfortunately the AC compressor died (bearing damage and coolant leaks). The car is in Europe and there were only a few hundred units sold; so getting a used part is next to impossible. A new part too much taking the age of the car in consideration.
So my idea was to take the compressor out and have it rebuild (if possible). Under the hood is a belt diagram and the secondary belt which also supports the AC compressor seems to be not really vital to operate the vehicle? Can someone explain me what the term “Idle” really means? Basically the belt runs from the pulley to idle and then to the AC compressor and back.
I have tried to get a used part in the US at used car parts. The part is widely available, but people do not wish to ship internationally. Perhaps if someone has that part and like to sell it, perhaps an agreement can be reached.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Sincerely
Alguien

Default AC compressor

Hi

Update. It is possible to have the compressor rebuild.

But I would have to take it out and send it away. Can I operate the car without the AC compressor and the associated belt? It looks like the compressor is connected to a secondary belt, but I am not a specialist.

Thanks.

Sincerely

Alguien

Second belt only runs idler pulley and AC. You can remove and still operate the car.

Default AC compressor

Hi ALL

Thanks for your responses. On Ebay (good tipp) I have found the part fairly reasonable and the guy sends it to Spain.
