Default LHS 3.5L Rebuild piston issue

Hi all
I'm rebuilding my 2001 Chrysler LHS VIN # 2C3AC56G51H568789 with a 3.5L

I had a piston break the top edge above the ring off #4, likely because I installed a "B" piston in the #3 spot and it was the wrong weight.
the originals are standard size (.030) stamped 2-/13-14, the mopar part number says 5010335AB (but that does not seem to specify between the version with the valve reliefs and the version without)
So now I need two replacement pistons or a whole set.

I ordered a set from Mahle and they appear to be the same in every dimension EXCEPT there are no Valve Reliefs cut into the piston.
So I am feeling stuck. I am not sure if the valve reliefs must be there for the pistons to clear them or if they are only for the instance where the timing belt breaks.
I'd rather fix it to be the way it was, But i am unsure if this detail matters, or how much.

I had an engine builder tell me the only way I would know if the PTV clearance was enough would be to install the pistons and the head and then see "if it turns"
trying to learn more before doing anything like that to myself.
Thanks in Advance for any insight or gelp you can offer.

I have seen this somewhere else...Valve reliefs were a carry over from the early 3.5 (non-interference) and were not deep enough for our generation "contact"/ interference engines. Eventually dropped from the design.
Have seen had single pistons replaced with no reported problems.

Default So not likely to be an issue?

So maybe I should just install them and not worry about the difference.
Thanks for the help

Yes, we had a guy on the 300mclub.org with the same dilemma. He installed 1 new piston and rod and ran 60k more miles before returning his car.

Default 50k

Well funny you should say that,
It made it about 50k with the #3 B piston.

However the demise of the last rebuild was that the pressure bottle got clogged. Either the head gasket blew or the water pump bearing started leaking. Air was leaking into the coolant system, and coolant was disappearing…

no idea how long #4 piston was chipped. It still had about 155 psi. compression before disassembly.
