Default More 300m codes

The 2000 300m is giving me fits!! Threw a P0455, but after two weeks at mechanic, got that figured out (knock on wood). Couple solenoids and a blown fuse. Now I am getting p1492 and p1493, and a battery light. Both codes point to the ambient temp sensor...one for voltage too high and one for voltage too low. Step daughter informed me that her outside air temp readout is not right. I did some searching and found different answers. Any opinions on a bad temp sensor? Some say it is rare for this to go bad. Havent had the charging system tested yet as the codes just came up, but could it also be a bad battery. Thanks for any advice.

Those codes will light both the battery & MIL lamps. Battery charging is related to battery temp (ambient temp used by LH cars) Rare for the sensor to fail. More likely to be a wireing issue leading out to ambient temp sensor.

It would not hurt to check the battery if it has been in there for awhile. you can also check with a volt meter, with the engine running to make sure it's charging at the correct voltage.
