no more stumbling, no more dying, 99 LHS
[sm=groupwave.gif]After digging thru the Haynes manual, I checked and cleaned the idle air control valve (IAC valve) and the throttle body with spray carb cleaner and the problem is solved. I removed the throttle body as a unit for a more complete cleaning and the car runs great, starts easier and idles smoother. Amazing. I think I can close the book on this one now. Hope this helps someone else. Blessings, DaveC.

RE: no more stumbling, no more dying, 99 LHS
to Iwant2playnow, it is at the rear of the intake manifold, back under the sill plate that is just below the wipers. It needs to be remove in order to gain access to the throttle plate and IAC valve. Not difficult, just a lot of small fasteners and if I remember right, I had to park the wipers in the up position to get to one or two of them. To do that, turn the wipers on and then remove the wiper relay inside the power box under the hood at the LH side. Otherwise the wipers will simply park whenthe key is turned off. Hope this helps, blessings, DaveC.
