Default Replacing window motor on 300M

Hi everyone, I have a 2000 300M with about 98K miles. I need to replace the power window motor in the driver's door. How hard is it to remove the interior panel on the door to access the motor? I would like to do it myself.

REMOVAL[*]Move the window to the full-up position, if possible.[*]Open hood and disconnect the negative battery cable remote terminal from the remote battery post Negative Battery Cable Remote Terminal[*]Remove door trim panel and window regulator, refer to Group 23, Body for Removal and Installation procedures WARNING: FAILURE TO CLAMP THE SECTOR GEAR TO THE MOUNTING PLATE WHEN REMOVING THE MOTOR CAN RESULT IN INJURY. [*]Disconnect wiring connector from motor.[*]Secure the sector gear and mounting plate with a C clamp or similar clamping tool. This will prevent a sudden and forceful movement of the regulator when the motor is removed.[*]Remove three mounting screws that hold motor gearbox to regulator Motor Removal[*]Remove motor from regulator. [/ol] INSTALLATION[*]Install new motor on regulator by positioning motor gearbox so that it engages regulator sector teeth.[*]A slight rotational or rocking movement may be necessary to bring three motor gearbox screw holes into proper position.[*]Install three gearbox screws and one tie down bracket screw, if applicable. Tighten to 5.6 to 8 N·m (50 to 70 in. lbs.) torque.[*]Install regulator, using the switch, test operation of motor. [/ol]
FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL REMOVAL CAUTION: Do not pry on door trim panel, damage to trim panel will result. [*]Remove speaker flag.[*]Remove speaker grille by inserting trim tool at the rear of the grille and disengaging clips holding to trim panel. Remove grille Front Door Trim Panel - Typical[*]Remove trim plug from the pull cup and remote bezel by inserting a small flat blade tool into the notch and remove.[*]Remove three screws from bottom of door.[*]Remove screw in pull cup.[*]Remove screw in remote bezel.[*]Remove two screws in the instrument panel interface area.[*]Remove three screws in the speaker area.[*]Using an trim tool, disengage the retainer clips from the door trim panel to the door panel.[*]Raise trim panel up to disengage from the belt being careful to hold the panel securely.[*]Disconnect the linkage from the remote handle assembly Inner Front Door Trim Panel - Typical[*]Disconnect the power mirror switch.[*]Disconnect the power door lock switch wire connector.[*]Disconnect the power window switch wire connector.[*]Disconnect the radio speaker wire connector.[*]Disconnect wiring harness clips from trim panel.[*]Disconnect the courtesy lamp.[*]Remove trim panel from vehicle. [/ol] INSTALLATION[*]Place door trim panel in position.[*]Install wire harness clips into door trim panel.[*]Connect the courtesy lamp.[*]Connect the radio speaker wire connector.[*]Connect the power window switch wire connector.[*]Connect the power door lock switch wire connector.[*]Connect the power mirror switch wire connector.[*]Connect the linkage to the handle assembly.[*]Install the water shield. Ensure that the water shield locator holes align. Ensure that the shield is sealed.[*]Insert trim panel into channel retainer at top door.[*]Insert the forward four way alignment guide into position. Insert the rearward two way alignment guide into position.[*]Install new retaining clips to attach door trim panel to door panel.[*]Install three screws in the speaker area.[*]Install two screws in the instrument panel interface area.[*]Install screw in the remote bezel.[*]Install screw in pull cup. Tighten screw to 1.7 to 2.3 N·m (15 to 20 in. lbs.) torque.[*]Install three screws to the bottom of the door. Tighten screws to 1.7 to 2.3 N·m (15 to 20 in. lbs.) torque.[*]Install pull cup and remote bezel trim plug, if equipped.[*]Place speaker grille in position on trim panel. Attach door speaker clips to trim pan[/ol]
