Default 04 convertible water in driver floorboard

I’ve tried everything I can find online. I’ve cleaned the drain holes underneath the car w a screwdriver I blasted water up into them to try and flush out debris, the top does not leak... I don’t know what else to try. I pulled up the molding along the threshold of the door and don’t see and water but the floorboard stays damp. It’s never standing water but I can’t for the life of me figure out where it’s coming from. Could the drain channels be clogged further up on the car. It sat parked under a tree for a couple years before I had it and was all gunned over with pollen etc. Like I said I cleaned the “weep holes” but could there be an obstruction further up like where the wipers are? HELP!!! I don’t want to give this car up but I can’t keep riding in a musty smelling auto. The car is perfect other than this horribly annoying problem.

Have you cleaned the plenum drain? Water that comes into the cowl in front of the windshield and water that is produced by operation of the air conditioner drains out a tube that comes out the firewall behind the engine. It can get clogged with debris like dead bugs and stuff from trees. Look behind the engine for a tube that comes through the firewall and then turns down and ends right there. Try massaging it gently and that should break up the clog and allow the gunk to fall down and out. Once you succeed in clearing that drain, use a fan to get the dampness out of the carpeting. It will take time (days?) to thoroughly dry it. Then get some carpet de-odorizer to finish the job, and use it as directed.
