Taz,
It might help if you understand that the way these things work is that they have a constant voltage supplied to them. The computer connects them to ground to complete the circuit at the exact time it wants them to work. That's what is meant by a "ground pulse".

thanks dcotter,
normally someone says to check for ground I use ohm meter to check to verify it's grounded, check for power use voltmeter to see if there is x volts present.

guess that's the difference in working on cars everyday and occasionally, you know when someone says to check for ground on injector or coil they mean ground pulse.

i have some wiring diagrams and will try checking for power and ground pulse tonight.

ok, so I checked and both and getting power and ground pulse on both. noticable difference in engine with either unplugged also.

so the fuel injector and coil both have good power and getting the ground signal correct?
Now its time the check the plugs and internal engine run a compression test on #3

yes, on both one wire was always hot with engine running, the other wire was getting ground pulse.

ok. I will try a compression test and check the plugs again
