2000 EU Stratus conv (sold als sebring conv in US) how to learn key fob
Hey guys,
I'm Björn, new member to the forum, located in Germany, with a 2000 Chrysler JX Stratus convertible (sold as Sebring convertible in the US AFAIK). It does not have the dreaded Rockwell immobilizer, but a Siemens SKIM with the grey keys with integrated passive transponders and a separate key fob for the RKE central locking. I have a china clone Micropod with DRB-III-emulator, which so far has worked fine. I got the immo PIN from a local dealer, had key blanks cut, put transponders in and could learn those keys into the immo, works fine. So the car runs fine and I have several working keys for the immo.
Now the only old RKE key fob I got with the car has died on me (batteries are three weeks old). I am trying to find a solution to learn new key fobs, but can't find anything in the DRB-III emulator.
An acquaintance has a stratus conv with the same spec, he wanted to modify the horn chirp and ran into the same problem, no menu item. We think those options should be located under VTSS (?). The VTSS is not found during a module scan, and can't be accessed through the DRB-III-emulator menu (connection times out).
Are we on the right track, should we find horn chirp and RKE options underneath the VTSS module on our car?
Do we need an adapter cable for the OBD2-port, or is there a special connector anywhere for the VTSS on this car?
Or maybe the HW-DRB-III needs a special smart card for EU cars and therefor it's not integrated in the DRB-III emulator?
Or something else we have to do to fiddle with key fobs and horn chirp on the LX?
Maybe someone knows something about this old car ;-)
