2000 Sebring Conv. No Start
Hi,
My 2000 Sebring Convertible will not turn over. 2.5l/auto. I turn the key, a fuse blows under the hood, and I'm dead in the water. When this happens, I have lights, but no radio/window/locks/etc. I'm getting no diagnostic codes when I scan it. The fuse under the hood is for the starter/fuel pump (#16). What could be causing this? How do I troubleshoot this one? What should I be checking out before sending this to the dealership? Thanks in advance

there is a cold short somewhere. I would trace the starter curcuit. have the starter checked out. quick easy and cheap. if it is not the starter is is in the wire. you have a hot wire issue
I pulled the starter. The starter motor itself was good, but the terminals on the solenoid were bent, and one was loose inside the solenoid. The ground strap was corroded. Chrysler, and the aftermarket don't sell just the solenoid, so, the starter was bad. I replaced the starter and the strap, and it fired right up. Thanks for the input.
