Default 2000 Sebring Seatbelts

I just bought a 2000 Sebring Convertible jx and the seatbelts lock up almost all of the time. I will get in the car and they won't come out of the seats at all and then 2 hours later they work fine. It is bizzare. HELP!

Do you park on a hill? Some of these locks are inertial devices that don't know the difference between going down hill and braking.
If that's not the problem, then take it in to the dealer and have it fixed right. These things are there to save your life.

It is possible that your seat belt ratchets are electronically controlled. Check the wiring under the seat. See if anything is pinched or loose.

There is a seat belt controller under the center console for both front seats. But, check your door switches before you start worrying about the controller. They're a whole lot more reasonable to replace and do have a tendency to corrode and stop working.
