Default 2001 lxi convertable 2.7

The car's been running fine, no sign of anything about to happen. One year old interstate battery. Came home, parked the car, locked it just like normal. The next morning, put the key in, turned it, and nothing... no clicking, no ratatat, absolutely nothing.

1. All lights on dash light normal.
2. When I turn the key on, the stereo goes through it's sequence to check for CDs.
3. Moved the shifter from park to neutral and back to park, still nothing.
4. Turned the headlight on to see if they were dim, nope, seem just fine.
5. Pulled the jumper cables out anyway and tried jumping, nothing.
6. The key's not disabled, I've seen this before, there would just be a single dimming and glowing red light, and that's not the case.

Maybe starters just fail out of the blue but they've always seem to give some indication, even in a failed state.

I wish there some sound, at least I'd have a place to start. I'm going to check the fuses after this post.

Thank you for your consideration.

Check the starter relay while you're checking fuses. If that's not the problem, check to see if the ignition switch is working properly.

Bad starter/fuel fuse. So much better than a starter : )

Thanks
