Default 2001 Sebring Coupe Engine Swap

I noticed threads on this site for the convertible, asking if the 3.0 would work in it, but nothing about the regular coupe. I plan on buying one (2001 Sebring Coupe lxi) that the 2.7 has died in and possibly putting either a 2.4 or a 3.0 in it instead of replacing the motor with another junk 2.7 liter. Is this possible? If so would there be any tips on what I'd need besides a new motor? I'd believe it was possible, since they released it with either the 2.7 or the HO 3.0, but I'd like some experienced opinions on this topic, so I don't wing it and waste my time and money. Any help would be appreciated.

ahhh a coupe never came with a 2.7 only 2.4 or 3.0
and same thing as trying to put a 3.0 in were the 2.7 is already it wont work.

Lets brake it down for any one else that reads this and has the same dumb ideas.

the 3.0 engine is a Mitsubishi made engine that means all of the wires, computers, sensors and setup is made only for a Mitsubishi setup. There for trying to put something else that is not made by the same company and architecture of the original WILL NOT HAPPEN EVER. U will haft to replace every single wire, sensor, computer, mounts transmission, and its computer, harness, sensors, now for the inside change out the dash harness and all the computers inside the car as well.
And any one wanting to do this U will haft to make a harness for such a trick along with make the computers and the software that will go along with is.
U would have a much easier time trying to perform open brain surgery on yourself holding a mirror.

Smile Thank You!

Thanks for the advice. I recently noticed the car has a 3.0 in it that needed work on its motor, just today. I figured I'd ask someone experienced before I jumped into anything and spent money on it. I heard that all that work would have to be done on the convertible, but no posts were made about the coupe is all. Apologies for mistaking the coupe for being a 2.7, that's just the only motor I hear anything about dying due to sludge, and pretty much being completely defective. To my knowledge it was put in the coupe, so my mistake.

Do you know if the 3.0 motor has any bad defects like the 2.7? Would I be better off replacing the motor with a 2.4 instead? I want to make the best choice here so the car can be as reliable as possible. I know all cars don't last but a couple hundred thousand miles, I just want the most reliable as these motors can be, seeing as how the 2.7 locks up at 60-100k.

the 2.7 locks up when people dont change there oil or have the right oil in there.
I own a 98 Concorde the first year of the 2.7 and the so called worst year I have 207k on mine Just replaced the chain and water pump not a drop of sludge in it.
