2001 sebring lxi tranny problem-HELP NEEDED ASAP!
Hey everyone, i just joined and i need some help. I have been searching and searching but havent found any answers yet.
The tranny just stopped working in the middle of driving..like it got kicked into neutral. Made no noises, leaks nothing. When you put it into gear it doesnt move.
If anyone else has had this problem please let me know.
I heard that it could be the solenoid or computer but im not sure. let me know please. thanks.

Yes, it could be the solenoid pack, or the computer, or possibly the fluid. The place to start is to see if it is throwing any codes. No point in buying a bunch of expensive parts on the off chance that one of them might be the problem.
Old fluid, in an of itself probably wouldn't cause the transmission to fail, but may have contributed to the failure if it has gummed up something in there or broken down to the point that it no longer has the proper characteristics of viscosity and slip to work properly. At this stage, I would think that it's probably unlikely that changing the fluid will restore proper operation.
Usually, if there's an electrical failure, the transmission will go into limp-in mode and stay in 2nd gear so you can drive it in for repair.
The next level of diagnosis is to hook it up to a pressure gauge to see if there is proper pressure when and where it is supposed to be. That's probably beyond shade tree mechanic capability so you may want to talk it over with a professional. Finding a transmission shop you can trust is a challenge in itself. Even then it's entirely possible that they won't be able to tell what's really wrong with it until they pull it out and tear it down.
