Default 2003 Sebring Dome Lights, Electric Locks, Radio not working after jumpstart

I had to jump my 2003 Sebring after it had been sitting in a garage for a few months. I believe that the leads were put on backwards by mistake the first time the jump was attempted.

The car continues to start up and run fine, however the dome lights, the automatic locks, the power windows, and the radio all do not have power. I was wondering if anyone has any insight into this? I talked to a few folks at autozone and they had no idea what was going on. I'm assuming it's a fuse, but the ones I have checked all seemed fine.

Thank you very much for any help you can offer.

It sounds like the trouble may be with the body control module. If it's not the fuse then the module may have gotten fried when the cables were hooked up incorrectly.

Before you do anything else, check the IOD fuse in the fusebox at the left end of the instrument panel. In the center of that fuse panel is a fuse with "ears" on it that you can easily pull out. That's the IOD fuse. That fuse controls things like the dome lights and the receiver for the remote power locks and clock in the radio that would draw power without the key being on. It's just a normal fuse set in a holder with the ears. It's used to kill the power to those things while the car sits in the dealer lot waiting to be sold. Check the fuse with a continuity tester if you have one or just replace it regardless. If you are sure it's not that fuse then you may have fried the BCM as jopizz suggests. There are services on the web that will supply a re-manufactured and reprogrammed computer on an exchange basis for far less that buying a new one.
