Default 2003 Sebring Sedan water leaking in + P0440 Evap emission

I have a 2003 Sebring Sedan, 4d. I have water leaking in the driver side floor area and rear driver side floor area but the rear may just be from the water spreading from the front. What are the probable causes? I can not find where it is leaking in through the rubber. I looked under it to see if there was a hole in the floor plate but couldn't get a good view. More water gets in when it rains when it has not been driven so it has to be a seal somwhere.

Where are the drains located? The rubber along the door is attached to the frame.

I also have a P0440 Evap emission control error. What is the common cause in this model?

Leak problem could be anywhere but start with the A/C evaporator drain.

Is the gas cap on tight? Seriously.

Where is the A/C evaporator drain? Note that I have not been using th AC. It either does not work or needs recharged at the moment.

Yes. The gas cap is on tight. It is one of those I can barely get off. I even picked up a factory cap from a junked 2002 and the error still comes on.

For the water, I replaced the rubber strip that runs along the top of the front and rear doors as well as the plastic trim next to the windshield that the rubber strip attaches to and water is still comming in. Both of the mentioned were damaged and needed to be replaced. Both parts came off of a 2002.

I cannot see where the water is comming in at. The floor is the most wet in front of the left foot support on the left side of the floor area and half way along the side of floor area next to the door.

A common cause of leaking water in the front passenger area is from a plugged condensate drain, which also drains rainwater that comes into the cowl area. Look on the firewall for a rubber hose that comes out, turns down and connects to nothing. It can get plugged by leaves, bugs and dirt that come into the cowl. Squeezing it can open up the end and let some of the crud fall out.
To check for other body leaks, you'll have to cover up the whole area on the outside with plastic and tape, then uncover suspected areas and direct a hose at them until you find where the water is coming in. Water always moves down but can travel sideways also, so the leak might not be real close to where you're finding water.
Check here for info in that code:
OBD-II Trouble Code: P0440 Evaporative Emission Control System Malfunction
