2004 Sebring 2.4 DOHC Sedan- P0440, P0441, very rare stall
This car has had P0440 and P0441, intermittently for years. Sometimes only the P0440, sometimes both, and sometimes neither. The only symptom that I can think of that may be related is an occasional stall at stop. When I say occasional, I mean maybe once or twice a year. The car has 85,000 miles. Stupid me should've taken it in while under emissions warranty, but I always thought.. I'll get around to it -- oh well.
I've made sure the gas cap is tight, checked around the filler cap, and also did a cursory check of the hoses going to and from the air breather, to and from the purge solenoid and have found nothing. I want to say that the car stalls shortly after filling up, but I cannot be 100% sure of this. This all may be entirely unrelated.
I'm thinking of taking a closer look at the purge solenoid or maybe just changing it altogether. A majority of my reading seems to suggest a hose problem, the solenoid, or the leak detection apparatus which may be above my comfort level due to it's location.
Can anyone give some advice?
