car was parked and 1 hour later would not start any thoughts?

 

Could be that the battery is shot and won't hold a charge at all. Could be corroded terminals in the starting circuit won't allow starting current to pass. Could be a blown starter motor. Could be many things. Have you checked for codes? Does it crank but not start? Does it click but not crank? Do other things work, lights, horn, etc?

 

Thanks for your input following is an update. New battery (old one would not maintain a charge), replaced starter relay-- results nothing changed. Horn works, lights work,top works, does not even attempt to crank. Acting as if the circuit is wide open ?

 

Check all the fuses in car and engine compartment?

 

Check the key switch and the neutral safety switch. Try wiggling the shift lever as you turn the key.
