Question 2007 Sebring P0302 help

I am having an issue with my 07 Sebring. it's the 2.4L, throwing a P0302 code. ( cylinder 2 misfire). The problem started to come and go, now it just stays. The spark plugs have been changed twice, the coil has been changed and the fuel injector has been changed. Other checks turn up no results that show a problem.
compression test and voltage/ohm checks for wiring to plugs and injectors.

I took it to a mechanic and he blamed the spark plugs, saying they were incorrectly gapped. Car manual says .040. He found them at .035. They were adjusted and replaced a couple days later. The CEL stayed and I just checked them again, 3 weeks later, they had expanded to .055, again returned to specs for car. It's causing light, bad gas mileage, rough idle, poor performance ( not that it has alot anyway )

I searched but turned up no results, if this topic is on here then could someone provide a link.

Has anyone else had a problem like this? What were fixes?

I moved two of the coils to see if the problem followed and it did not. Replaced the coil on that cylinder for good measure. Nothing changed. I don't have the capabilities to do much more myself and am wondering if its internal. i was hoping that someone had a similar problem for some insight and to avoid a shop trip. thanks for the response though.
