Question 2007 Sebring trunk release not working

I have an 07 Touring with 68k miles. About a week ago I got in to start the car and it was totally dead, I think the kids were in there or I didn't turn it all the way back and left the key on ACC. I hit the trunk release button to get the jumper cables out and it didn't work, neither did the key fob. I got the car jumped and started fine, however the trunk release still doesn't work, car running or not. I have to crawl through the rear seats to open it. I checked the fuses and didn't find any bad ones. No other issues at the moment...
Any ideas or is this a trip to the dealer?

Correction, just to clear things up, I should have said "remote" trunk release not working, the emergency release inside the trunk works fine.
