2008 Chrysler Sebring LTD
This week I purchased a 2008 Sebring, Limited, AWD, with the 3.5 with 33K on it. It runs like a dream, and I haven't found anything majorly wrong with it. However, I had something odd happen when driving it this evening. I noticed some steam coming from under the hood, and I parked and checked it out. Looked to be a small amount of coolant coming the left side of engine, ( if standing in front,) close to over flow bottle. I cracked the overflow bottle, and it filled up, and the leak stopped. I can't quite pinpoint where its coming from, however it doesn't appear to be major. Ill add this didn't happen again, and the temp is fine, oil is fine, no mixture or other odd smells. I did take it through car wash yesterday, and did notice a FAINT smell of coolant, but no leaks or steam. After that I drove another 50 miles and didn't have any leaks or smell. Just looking for suggestions before I take it to dealer.

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere, possibly at the water pump but it needs to be pinpointed. There are several possibilities at that area of the engine.
There are dyes that can be added to the coolant to help pinpoint a leak. A service facility can add some dye, pressurize the system and look for the leak. Some dyes are very visible under "black" light. If you are interested in doing the detective work yourself get some leak detection dye and give it a whirl. Keep in mind that if you spot the dye somewhere, the actual leaking spot could be somewhere else and the dye and coolant are running to where they become visible to you. Once you find the actual leaking spot, you'll have to figure out what repair is necessary.
