Default 2008 Sebring tranny upgrades/LSD...

Does anyone have experience with the TranGo shift kit for the 40TES? Or the Sonnax rebuild kit?

Any chance someone has tried the Traction Concepts A604 LSD conversion? Pretty much the exact same transmission as the 40TES...

I see you finally got your questions posted. Honestly, don't be too disappointed if you don't get much by way of responses. I've been hanging around this site for some 13 years and there isn't much activity concerning modifications on Sebrings. The Sebring is kind of a plain vanilla vehicle that people are mostly interested in for getting from one place to another with as little hassle as possible. There doesn't seem to be a great deal of interest in souping it up. Good luck to ya.

Thanks for the reply.

I am not really trying to make it any faster. It's approaching 200k, and stuff needs replaced/serviced... it is time. If I am going to replace stuff anyways, I might as well see if I can improve upon what was there to begin with.

Chrysler and their stupid "sealed" transmissions, who freaking knows what condition it is in. Lol. It works, but it's probably magic. So I am thinking of getting both the Sonnax and TransGo kits, making one kit to rule them all... with the TransGo pieces taking priority over the Sonnax if they have duplicate parts.

I will most likely pick up a used transmission from a salvage yard, and rebuild it since the current transmission is running fine.

If I can find testimony/evidence that the Traction Concepts A604 LSD works in the 40TES, I will install that at the same time. Nobody wants to be the guinea pig. Lol. I imagine it isn't a difficult conversion given that there are AWD versions of this transmission (41AE) to pirate axles and bearings from.
