Default Acceleration in drive from a stop

Sorry, I know my thread title sounds a tad funky. I have a 2002 Sebring LXI with the 6 cylinder 2.7 engine. This is no large issue but it is annoying and could use some advice.

Any car I've owned (automatic tranny) when put into drive, will slowly accelerate when put into drive and the brake pedal released. My sebring will not move when the brake pedal is released and when I slowly depress the gas pedal, I get the acceleration "jerk" since it's starting from a dead stop. I hope this make sense. The car idles smoothly at about 600 rpm's. Thanks.

Thanks CHRYSLER TECH. I checked the motor mounts, using the old foot on the brake and accelerate and decelerate trick with no engine rock. The strangest thing to me is why the car will not move forward at all while in drive at idle...

I had that problem almost 50 years ago on my '60 T-Bird. Adjusting the shift linkage took care of it then. Probably won't solve your problem, but could help.
