Airbag light challenge

Default Airbag light challenge

04 Sebring convertible 2.7 failed inspection because there was no airbag light, replaced cluster now the light wont go out. The only code coming up is P.... Regarding the battery having been disconnected. What is the issue please

Airbag codes, like ABS codes are very specific to pin point the fault. You need to have the system scanned by more than a regular OBD!! scanner like places such as Autozone does. A good independent shop usually will have such a higher level scanner for getting to BCM codes.

In other words, the scan done at autAuto wasn't sufficient?

I certainly appreciate the help/input. Would the scanner used at motor vehicles administration detect what it is do you think

That's correct...An Autozone scan is not the correct type scan, they just do engine/power train codes not ABS or SRS(air bag) system codes.
Don't know what state you are located, but NY is read only for pass/fail and don't think it gives codes if fault is found.
