Battery Light comes on - not all the time
My battery light on dash started coming on - three days in a row - but only after I drive the car for about 20 min - 30 minutes. Checked charging on volt meter and it has a strong charge - no apparent problems. No problems starting the car. dash lights did flicker for the first while after the light came on...what could be the problem?
It sounds to me like your alternator/regulator are in the process of failing. Intermittent highs and lows in the circuit are commonly caused by worn brushes etc. Pull it off and have it tested.
Suggestion. Before spending much money chasing down this type of electrical problem, I believe it to be wise to spend the $50 at Wal-Mart to replace a battery first. If you find that solves the problem, job well done. (Be sure to inspect/clean/replace terminals and connections! All are important. Use some red battery goop too.)
If that doesn't solve the problem, well, someone can always make use of a good 12v battery in their garage somewhere. You'll make someone's day.

i agree irdaneel.
i had a friend who had a similar problem and refused to believe it was the battery because it just a year old..turns out the battery was defected.
