Sebring Deal Gone Bad?

Sebring Deal Gone Bad?
I purchased a 2000 JXI with 61K on the clock not too long ago and decided to have the 60K service done at a local Chrsyler dealership. Said and done - and the nightmare started ...
Amongst some minor things, they also told me that engine and transmission were replaced. Well, not that this would necessarily be a bad things but it gets me that the dealer did not mention a word of replacement, aside from advertising the engine having "original" mileage..
I am now in discussions with the dealer who sold me the car, but being a novice I am looking to for advicefrom thoseof you who are more familiar with the subject.
Does the replacement of engine and transmission depreciate the car value further? If so, what percentage roughly?
I am at the Jersey shore and happy to show the vehicle to anybody who wishes to assist me in this uphill battle.
Any feedback will be appreciated!
Thanks guys.
Joe.

RE: Sebring Deal Gone Bad?
the car can be bebuilt from the ground up and it wont make any difference on book value. Now if u are selling it to a person by yourself then u might be able to get more out of it because of what ever u have done. If u got a new engine and tranny more power to ya.

RE: Sebring Deal Gone Bad?
I learned yesterday that the engine used came from a '99 Cirrus LXi. The engine used is a 2.5L V6 SFI and it had 59,123 mls on it as per AutoCheck.
Is this engine the same as the original and if not, is it considered to be more/less reliable than the original Sebring engine?
Thank you.
