Default Car Alarm problem

Hi-
I replaced the battery in my 2003 Sebring & the car alarm went off when I opened the door.I put the key in the ignition & turned it to "on", but the alarm didn't stop. Does anyone know how to turn the alarm off? I do not have a keyless entry. Thanks!

If you have the factory alarm system, your car should be equipped for keyless entry. If your key is gray you have the factory alarm system. If your key is black, then your alarm system is an aftermarket product. You'll need to figure out where that system came from and talk to them about it.

If you have a gray key and the factory alarm system, you are best advised to go to the dealer and get it straightened out and get the proper key fobs to control the system.

Alarm systems are not designed to be easily defeated. It would make them rather useless if they were.
