Default Alarm Issue

Hi, I am renting this car while mine is in the shop. It has a blade type key (not keyless entry or ignition) When I unlock the door, the alarm (horn) sounds. I see that there is a panic button but when I push it the alarm just speeds up. Even when I start the car the alarm keeps going. After about 30 seconds (seems like an hour) it shuts off.

I've never owned a Chrysler product so I am unfamiliar with the alarm procedure. On my own car pushing the panic button again turns the alarm off. I will have this car for another day so I'd like to solve this.

Thanks

PS, I did not see a Model 200 specific forum so feel free to move this if it's in the wrong place.
