Default Considering a 200 - Need assistance

All,

My car was recently totalled, and I am not on the market for a new vehicle. I have always loved the Toyota Camry, Nissan Maxima, or the Honda Civic. However, out of curiosity, I checked out a 2011 Chrysler 200 and really loved it. To my surprise, I found that the 2017 is the last model of this car, which is very strange to me. Why would Chrysler stop producing such a nice car? I do see that it was discontinued due to "lack of profitability." Yet I find that strange since this is a feature rich and very affordable car.

For existing owners, would you still buy this car today knowing that Chrysler decided to discontinue this car? Why or why not? If not, which comparable vehicle would you consider?

Is there any particular model year you recommend? I am interested in the 2015-2016 models. However, I think having a button as gear is strange and will require some adjustments on my part. Have you had any major issues with that? I may consider the 2014 for that reason alone.

What are some of the things to look or when checking out this model? I intend to buy one with less than 50k miles on it, so it should still have some of the manufacturer warranty on it.

I am looking to make a decision in the next 5 days or so, so your help is truely appreciated.
