Default Coolant gauge appears to read low all the time

01 Sebring Convertible, 2.7L v6, 73,000 miles

Car drives well, no codes, no coolant loss etc. The coolant gauge is always below the midpoint. Is this normal? The car has good heat. The fans do not turn on until the needle moves up slightly. It is not overheating. I am asking so that if there is an issue I know what normal should be for this gauge.

Typical position for the needle is about the 8:30 position. Only in extremely hot weather would it approach the 9:00 midpoint. Only if the needle rises above the midpoint would I be concerned.
