I just got this car not to long ago, it was my brothers friends car and it worked fine. So my brothers friend b4 he gave it to me he brought it to the mechanic and he said that the car needed a new computer andthe mechaniccharged 1000 to put a new computer in so his friend didnt do it cause my brother said he would put it in since he knew how to. After we left the mechanic the car never started again it started when we got there but never started again. My brother purchased a computer for the car and he installed it . When we chargedthe battery the only thing that goes on is the radio and the lights, not even the starter works, i am not sure if there is a problem with the starter or batt im not sure, all i know if after we left the mechanic the car never started again.
Can any one help me out on this or give me some advice on what i can do.. Thanks So much

 

Sorry to say, but you need another mechanic. Try to find someone in a clean and well run shop.

 

ive been in that situation b4 with 1 of my old cars nd i am also a mechanic my suggestion is replace the alternator. if the alternator is dead you will only be able to power the radio and any battery run accessories. but b4 u do that i would like to knew if you a getting any sound at all when you try to turn the engine over. you should be getting a clicking noise. if you are then chances are its your alternator. hope this helps you.

 

an alternator does not make the car start or run only supplies power when it is running and charges the battery and give power to the car. What kinda no start do u have will not spin over will not fire up will not do what?
