Smile Electric Doors`

just purchased A 02 Conv.It Came With Remote Start With 1 Control,The Remote Will Unlock The Doors But Not Lock Them Also The Doors Do Not Lock With The Electric Button Inside But Will Unlock With It.I Don;t Have A Manual To Check It Out.Any Help Would Be Appreciated?

To my knowledge, that is an aftermarket system. I'm not aware of any remote start as a regular production option. The car is designed to not lock electrically if you leave the key in, and of course, it's designed to not start without the key, so maybe the remote start tricks the car into believing it has a key in it, and therefore it won't permit electrically locking the doors.

there is also the chance that the locking device in the door is bad I have heard of things like this on some older cars in the past but dont know for sure
